As a member of our credit union, you also have a responsibility to safeguard your financial information. Any information disclosed to Lansing Postal Community CU in the course of normal business will be held in the strictest confidence. Lansing Postal Community CU will not sell your name and address to any mailing lists or to any merchants. We are in the business of serving you - our members, not marketing those lists to anyone.

LPCCU will collect only the personal information that is necessary to conduct our business.

LPCCU will protect your personal information. Our credit union will maintain strong security controls to ensure that member information in our files and computers is protected.

LPCCU will always provide you access to your information. As a member of our credit union, you will have the opportunity to review and update to ensure that our records for you are complete and accurate.

LPCCU will only share information to administer the services and products we provide when required to do so by the government, or when we partner with other businesses to offer a broader array of products and services.

LPCCU will partner only with businesses that follow strict confidentiality requirements. The businesses we select will offer products designed to enhance our member's economic well being.

LPCCU will offer you a choice in how your information is used. Any member of our credit union may elect to keep information from being shared with our business partners by providing a written request for same. We will take all reasonable steps to make sure your requests are followed. At least once a year, we will remind all members of your right to choose.

Security Statement

Our Credit Union is constantly concerned about our member’s critical information and privacy. With this in mind, we have the following security services installed on our Internet server:

  • Each server is behind a Firewall. This UNIX based hardware product blocks critical ports and IP addresses on servers from external attack and access.
  • Each server runs proprietary software that constantly monitors the servers for unauthorized use and attempts to "hack" into information. Administrators are contact when forced attacks are committed, and countermeasures can be applied to stop these instances.
  • All administrative activity requires user login and authentication. All administrative updates are logged into files that can be reviewed later.
  • All servers come with a Global Verisign Certificate (RSA) for digitally encrypted communications between the Web server and your member. Information passed in applications cannot be decrypted by third parties attempting to "pick" information being passed across the Internet backbone.
  • All servers run the latest version of Apache Web Server, considered the strongest and most secure Web server software on the market.
